L.O.V.E.

In one of the blogs I follow, The Foster Family , a great post was recently added listing what she loves about her twin girls....so I am copying the idea and doing it for Connor...

Connor, I love:

• The way you clap your hands when you're proud of yourself
• The giant hug you give me every morning when I get you out of your crib
• How silly you get
  
• When you talk and babble and sing on and on...I could just sit and listen for hours
• When you drag your bigger-than-you Teddy Bear across the apartment because you love it so much
• Watching you weeble wobble around the apartment
• The way you stick your face up towards the kitty cat hoping he'll lick your nose
• When you giggle
• When you sit near Daddy and say "heyyyyyyyy dada"
• The nights we cuddle on the floor and fall asleep together
• Looking at the tons of pictures I take of you
• Showing off the tons of pictures I take of you!!!
• Your "fresh face" (the one you make before you do something you're not supposed to!)
• Watching you and Daddy play together
• When you hear music and start dancing

• YOU!!!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Connor went to his very first baseball game last night!! Now, he's been to Daddy's baseball and softball games - but he had never been to a stadium before! We went to see the Hudson Valley Renegades (a local Single A baseball team).

Connor had a blast listening to the music, observing everything that was happening, eating french fries and soft pretzels.... and well, you can see for yourself...

The Ice Cream Thief

My little man turned into a full-fledged ice cream thief last night.
Did he sneak around and steal the ice cream when no one was looking? No!
Well, "How did he do it?" you may be thinking...

In a room of 6 people each eating their own bowl of ice cream Connor used his cute looks and charm to get some ice cream. He started with Daddy - walking over saying "da da da da" so of course, how could Daddy resist?? Then over to Mommy, patted on her legs and gave the cutest face...so Mommy couldn't resist.

Ahhh...then he realized that his Aunt Laurie had ice cream! And so did cousins Jessica, Derek and Chris!! So, one by one he walked over, patted their legs and did something too cute to resist and got the spoonful of ice cream he wanted... he made his way around the room multiple times - varying the pattern so that no one would "catch on" to him...ha ha ha

Sneaky trick Connor -- but, I can' t say I blame ya because Mommy LOVES her ice cream too!

I would just like to take a moment to thank my dear son for sleeping almost 11 hours last night. It was clear that he needed it since he went to bed so early - but perhaps he knew how badly his Mom needed some sleep!!!

He started getting fussy around 7:15 p.m. but I didn't want to give him his bottle yet because I feared he'd fall asleep for a nap, and be up around 9:30 (which has happened before...) so I thought I'd try to hold out a little longer before doing his bedtime routine.

Well, as time was slowly moving forward he was becoming more and more tired - rubbing his eyes, getting frustrated with everything he tried to do... just an overall tired baby. So,I figured I'd just give him the bottle and see what would happen. So, around 7:30 Connor got his "bed time bottle" and he fell asleep instantly... I put him in the crib a few minutes later. I was hopeful that he'd sleep all night, but not convinced. Especially since every day this week he's been getting up at 4:30 a.m. (ooh not fun for Mommy!) so I've been exhausted!!!

Well, my tired little guy slept from about 7:30 until almost 6:30 this morning! Wow!!! and Thank You!!!

Pool Time!

Connor LOVES the baby pool! He splashes, plays with his toy - and quite often "accidentally" drops his sun hat into the water in hopes that Mommy won't make him wear it. Yet, I always stick it back on his head to protect that perfect little scalp of his!

Rough Week

My little man has been having a rough week.

4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom sides) are coming in, and are beginning to cut through.
He's been fussy, uncomfortable and needy - so its been Mom & Dad on demand all week.

To top things off, last night he had another night terror - this one was worse than the last time. I don't think it lasted longer than the previous one, but this time his eyes were actually open for part of it - (which is said to be common). It made it look like Connor was awake, but in actuality he wasn't "seeing" me because he was still sound asleep. Of course, the night terror affects me more than it does him - because it turns me into a nervous wreck - so Jason set up a bed of blankets on the living room floor so I could sleep with the little guy so I could stay near him.

In addition - he's now sneezing up a storm and has a very runny nose. I'm sure those are symptoms from the teething - but it certainly doesn't help the poor fella.

Hopefully these teeth come in soon so he can have a little relief before more begin surfacing.

Crib Recall

Unfortunately, Connor's crib has been recalled for saftey hazards. It is a drop-side crib, made by Simplicity, and they recalled all models sold within the last year and a half. For more information, click here.

What a major pain in the you-know-what to have to return the crib but I'm glad we found out by watching it on the news rather than rushing to the Emergency Room.

And, for anyone wondering - our crib hasn't detached like they say is the main issue - but we have certainly noticed that the tracks to slide the rail down have already started wearing out because there are some days that Jason & I have a difficult time getting the side down and it takes us multiple tries to get it to work.

9 months old!

I know I say this each month - but I can't believe he just keeps getting bigger and older! Connor is 9 months old today! He is 23 lbs and about 28 inches long (from our home measurements, so they may be off slightly).

He's beginning to walk and talk -- and just today he clapped his hands for the first time!
What a big boy!
